The breathtaking VCT 2022 EMEA Stage 2 Group Stage ended with 6 series played this week. Guild Esports and Fnatic finished first in their groups, while Team Liquid, FunPlus Phoenix, Acend and M3 Champions were the other teams that made it to the playoffs.
Acend – FPX
In the opening match of the last week of the VCT 2022 EMEA Stage 2 Group Stage, the two strong teams of Group A faced off. Acend and FPX, who had three victories each before the match, competed against each other for the second place in the group. Although the favorite of the series for VALORANT betting fans was the representative of CIS, FPX, Acend managed to beat their opponent 2-1 and took the second place. Acend are getting better with each passing week after making changes to their roster.
M3 Champions – Team Liquid
The last match of the first day was expected to be very close by esports betting followers. Both sides were expected to give great performances, especially given that M3 Champions had to win this match in order to make the playoffs. However, it didn’t happen. Going into a new structure, Liquid also took the fruit of this decision against M3 Champions and defeated them 2-0.
Natus Vincere – Guild Esports
Although Natus Vincere have performed well since the beginning of the season, they could not find the victories they were looking for. The team, which got one map point in each series, including the matches they lost, was finally able to win against Guild. The series went to the third map and the Ukraine-based team won the series 2-1. However, this score was not enough for them to make it through the playoffs.
FOCUS – OG LDN UTD
This match determined the lower places of Group A. FOKUS, who had no win before this match, took their first victory against OG LDN UTD. All the matches played in the series were very competitive and FOKUS won the last map in overtime. With this result, OG LDN lost the chance to qualify for the Last Chance Qualifier and ended the season.
BIG – BBL Esports
In the last match of Group B, two teams with one win competed. This match had two different storylines. First, if BIG wins the series, they could make it to the playoffs based on the results of other games. On the other hand, BBL Esports had to win this series to qualify for the LCQ. The winner became the Turkish representative. They played a dominant game in both maps and got an easy win.
Fnatic – G2 Esports
Fnatic continue to dominate. The European giant, which started Stage 2 with two new transfers, had a great start to the season. And they managed to keep up this amazing performance until the end of the group stage. They beat G2 Esports 2-0 in the final game of the week, claiming their fifth win in the group. G2 Esports, on the other hand, finished Stage 2 with disappointment after the successful Stage 1. The team was able to get only 1 win.
VCT 2022 EMEA Stage 2 will continue with the playoff stage on June 17.
