VCT 2022 Stage 1 Masters Reykjavik Preview

2022’s first biggest international LAN VALORANT event is here. On April 10, twelve teams from different regions around the world will start to clash. And they will try to takedown each other to win VCT 2022 Stage 1 Masters Reykjavik. Let’s learn who the participants are and find out esports betting opportunities.

G2 Esports

The European force is coming to this tournament as the first seed of Europe. Since FunPlus Phoenix isn’t able to attend the event, G2 Esports got their placement. After mixwell joined the active squad once more, G2’s performance increased and the team got consecutive victories in EMEA. Hence, G2 has a great chance to win the trophy.

Liquid

Since FPX won’t participate in the Masters Reykjavik, Team Liquid got their spot and a seat in the tournament, although they became fourth in EMEA Qualifiers. The team were dealing with stability in the regular season. And they need to solve that issue if they want to find success in the global arena.

Fnatic

Fnatic was one of the best teams at the start of VCT 2022 EMEA Stage 1 Challengers. Winning every game during the group stage, the team were looking sharp in terms of gameplay. Right after qualifying the playoffs, Fnatic’s performance decreased, but they managed to get a seat at the Stage 1 Masters.

The Guard

North America’s first seed was among the hottest teams in the world. They came from nowhere and sat at the top of their region with beautiful VALORANT and convincing gameplay of theirs. They’re definitely one of the strongest contenders for the trophy at Masters Reykjavik and a trustable source for VALORANT betting followers.

OpTic Gaming

Right behind The Guard, OpTic qualified for the international event after losing the grand final in NA with 3-2. However, the team didn’t look as strong as their opponent was during the series. Despite taking the two map points, OpTic usually relied on yay’s performance which is not sustainable for the future.

LOUD

Established at the beginning of the 2022 season, LOUD entered the Brazilian scene in full swing. Collecting some of the prominent names of the scene, the squad destroyed the entire regular season and became the champion of their region.

Ninjas in Pyjamas

Following the disappointing 2 years in Europe, Ninjas in Pyjamas carried their operations to Brazil and created a new VALORANT squad. The fresh lineup wasn’t able to takedown LOUD, but it had enough power to win South America’s Last Chance Qualifier. Like most Brazilian teams, they have incredible firepower but they lack strategy.

KRÜ Esports

KRÜ Esports are looking for another fairytale story after their incredible underdog run at VALORANT Champions 2021. However, their rivals will be prepared for the LATAM’s representative which will make KRÜ’s job tougher. Besides that, KRÜ didn’t perform as well as last year in their region. We’ll see if another underdog storyline will occur or not.

XERXIA Esports

We have a new challenger in the global scene that features some familiar names. Ex-X10 players that we know from VALORANT Champions 2021 and Stage 2 Masters joined XERXIA this year. The Thailand-based team won their respective region easily, but couldn’t win the APAC’s grand final losing to Paper Rex. Even though this loss put them into the second seed, that was enough for them to take place in Masters Reykjavik.

Paper Rex

Paper Rex are coming into the tournament as the best representative of APAC, Asia-Pacific. As the authorities described, the team have a huge potential with all the talent they contain. This will be the squad’s first international event in VALORANT. So If they can overcome this inexperience, they’ll have a serious chance.

DRX

The Korean team made the name in the scene thanks to their long-lived win streak in 2020 and 2021. However, they weren’t able to show that strength in the first global tournament they attended. This year, the squad aim to achieve their goals after rebranding and creating a better team.

ZETA Division

The Japanese line up will look to get some experience in the LAN event. Since the roster is quite young, clashing against some of the biggest organizations in the world will be beneficial for them for the upcoming season. On the other hand, ZETA have the lowest chance to win the event.

VCT 2022 Masters Reykjavik will be played between 10-24 April.
