VCT 2022 EMEA Stage 1 Challengers Week 5 Completed

It was a busy week at VALORANT Champions Tour 2022 EMEA Stage 1 Challengers. Week 5 of the event featured ten series for esports betting lovers, including the postponed matches from week 3. At the end of the competition, teams that qualified for the playoffs from Group B became clear. Let’s dive into the details.

G2 Esports

G2 had a flawless week by winning against BBL Esports and Guild Esports. After mixwell was promoted to the active roster, the team’s performance visibly increased. G2 put in enormous performances in both games and grabbed the playoff ticket, despite having a bad start to the season.

Team Liquid

The European powerhouse continued to struggle in week 5 of VCT 2022 EMEA Stage 1 Challengers. First, it couldn’t show any presence against FunPlus Phoenix and got upset 2-0. Then, the team managed to get the much needed W against BIG and retained its chance to be in the playoffs.

BBL Esports

The Turkish representative finally found a victory against an European team in the event. And it gave a huge surprise to VALORANT betting followers. Beating last world champion Acend with a 2-1, BBL Esports secured its spot at VCT 2022 EMEA Stage 2 Challengers. Even though it’s not eligible to play in playoffs, being in the next stage of EMEA should make the team happy.

Natus Vincere

Unlike the other teams, Natus Vincere competed in only one match this week. Facing against BIG, the Ukraine-based team grabbed an important win in the way of making through the playoffs with a 2-1. It stands in third place in group A right now, having two games left.

Fnatic

Fnatic has been improving since the beginning of the tournament and it looks like nobody can stop it. First initiating the week with a triumph against SuperMassive Blaze, the European giant managed to upset its rival Acend on the last day of week 5. In the end, Fnatic became one of the first teams that will take part in the playoffs.

BIG

BIG is one of the biggest disappointments of VCT 2022 EMEA Stage 1 Challengers. Although qualifying from the closed qualifiers performing great, BIG dropped to the VCT Promotion tournament without taking a single match. Last week, the Germany-based organization got defeated by Team Liquid and Natus Vincere.

Acend

We witnessed the fall of 2021’s world champions in week 5. Regardless of its sloppy performances in the first weeks, Acend was still considered as a contender for the playoffs. However, a loss against BBL Esports in week 5 pushed the team out of the playoffs. This is a pretty big shock for the organization and we don’t know how the roster will bounce back from this.

FunPlus Phoenix

FPX is another team that is affected by the invasion of Ukraine. The circumstances prevented the roster’s in-game leader, ANGE1, from competing this week. FunPlus Phoenix solved this issue bringing baddyG to the roster. However, this led the team to face its first loss in the event against LDN Utd. But still, FPX has a great chance to be in the next stage.

Guild Esports

Guild Esports had its worst week within VCT 2022, losing its undefeated streak against Fnatic and struggling versus SuperMassive Blaze. That being said, none of these issues could hold them back from earning a seat in the playoffs.

SuperMassive Blaze

The Turkish representative finished the tournament with a broken heart, not being able to grab a single victory. Despite showing a decent performance against Guild last week, this wasn’t enough to meet a W. SuperMassive Blaze will continue its journey in VCT Promotion.

LDN Utd

The underdog of Group A secured its spot in EMEA Stage 2 with the triumph against FunPlus Phoenix. The surprising victory was the savior for the team and the duelist player feqew played a huge role in this.

VCT 2022 EMEA Stage 1 Playoffs will start after the end of week 6.
